The African Union achieved an important step in preparing
the leaders of tomorrow
Following the training initiated by the African Union Leadership Academy, an initial certification for project management was obtained by an African Union staff member at the beginning of July 2016. This achievement marks an important step in the efforts aimed at finding capacity-building solutions to meet the challenges of the African Union's Agenda 2063.
Those who have obtained this certification are admitted to the league of certified Project Managers of the Project Management Institutes (PMI). They are supposed to have the expertise to successfully and effectively carry out various development projects or programs.
This certification is the first within the 37 participants in the initial training. It is an example for other staff. It marks the first, but important step, towards preparing the leaders who will drive us to the Africa We Want.
The African Union Leadership Academy was created to support the staff of the institution in this process. Indeed the implementation of change implies a certain metamorphosis as well as the adoption of innovative approaches and new skills.
